GammaGuard Legacy: Radiation Detector App
GammaGuard Legacy is a free Android app developed by Environmental Instruments Canada and is designed to connect wirelessly to CT007 radiation detectors. It provides an easy-to-read display and can interpret readings for non-technical users. The app uses one consistent user interface across all CT007 series detectors, making it easy to learn. GammaGuard Legacy can save data automatically, including GPS coordinates, to a file and upload data to a central database, facilitating coordinated incident response. It alerts the user to elevated radiation levels, even when the app is running in the background. The app also displays the radiation level when the CT007 detector is up to 40 meters away from the smartphone. The background changes from green to yellow to red to indicate low, elevated, and high levels of radiation. Moreover, GammaGuard Legacy can update the firmware on CT007 detectors, ensuring they are always up to date.
It's essential to note that this app is being replaced by the new version of GammaGuard, which has support for all of the devices and new features.
